Julie and Dave live in suburbia with an Uptown Girl daughter, a nice house and a huge secret that has held them together for 40 years.

They met in 1983, when the music was gold, the fashions were gold, and Julie and Dave stole a lot of gold from a very bad man. Four decades later, how are they going to sell it, and more importantly, avoid the elderly psychopath who wants revenge - and his gold back?

Gold!

critics and audience are loving it ....

Something about the way this show captures the quiet highs and lows of a mundane, domestic, suburban life and mixes it up with the thrills of crime and gangsters, is incredibly charming. Charming really is just the word to describe Gold all around. The performances of Kate Stafford and Nicholas Collett will have you charmed right from the first scene. Their chemistry and easy dynamic with each other as actors brings a real sense of realism to a slightly peculiar premise. They are simply a delight to watch bring the day-to-day tribulations of Julie and Dave to life and make hiding a fortune’s worth of gold stolen from a gangster feel highly relatable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lexical Lunacy  [read the full review here]

Audience Reviews

Two very polished actors play an ageing couple taking the audience on a fast paced romp through their past which is rapidly catching up with them. Good script and music, makes a very funny and entertaining show. Get in early to get the front seats. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Incredible show combining fun, danger, 80’s music, and plenty of laughs. The two performers were full of energy, excellent dance moves, and some real gravitas when needed. I particularly enjoyed the role of the daughter (a nightmare indeed!). I can only give this show five stars—worth its weight in Gold! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Fringe must-see!

'FUN AND LIGHTHEARTED - four stars'

Loved this show. Funny, fast paced, brilliant music and great actors. Go and see it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An intelligent, witty and masterful comedy. As the scenario unfolds we are drawn into the daily ups and downs of Dave and Julie, a, seemingly, normal couple, as they attempt to find a way out of a problematic and potentially deadly situation. The focus is fixed on the relationship of the two as they navigate their issues with humour, warmth and love. I laughed quietly to myself all the way through, and sometimes out loud as well (as did the rest of the audience). Emerged with a big smile on my face. Well worth the effort, and highly recommended!!

'Really good piece of theatre well worth seeing. Well acted two hander, with great comedic content and some fantastic 80’s songs. Go see it if you can, you won’t regret it'

'Really enjoyed this. Our first show this year with two great actors. Give it a go'
